In the Kitchen with Nancy Drew

25 Nov

During the month of November, while I’m participating in NaNoWriMo, a.k.a. trying to write 1,666 words or 6.6. pages per day, I’m featuring two weekly blogs based on the fabulous book, Clues for Real Life: The Classic Wit & Wisdom of Nancy Drew, compiled by Jennifer Fisher (used with permission).

“Whether you’re battling everyday villains, dating mysterious men, or just shopping for a fashionable frock, a few good clues for life are just what the modern woman needs.”

In the Kitchen with Nancy Drew

Whip up a bit of mystery, add a hefty amount of mayhem, then finish with hearty, home-cooked dinners, delicious picnics and a sweet treat or two.

  • After you’ve been bound and gagged, hot tea can be soothing. The Clue in the Old Stagecoach.
  • Hot chocolate can take the chill out of any rainy day sleuthing adventure. The Mystery of the Moss-Covered Mansion.
  • When your home has been burglarized, it’s always a good idea to indulge in a midnight snack of angel food cake and fruit juice. The Secret of the Golden Pavilion.
  • It’s a good idea to carry several chocolate bars in case you get caught in a storm and have to seek shelter. The Mystery at the Ski Jump
