Book Launch Party Day #7

7 Mar

Already it’s Day #7 of the Launch Party for A Few Dead Men! Where did the days go? All this fun and debauchery has affected my short term memory.

Only one day left to try your luck at the games in the right margin, Hang the Dead Man or Test Your Detective Skills. If you snooze, you lose!

Click for the recipe!

Nachos are a favourite on any menu, so that’s today’s featured munchie. I like my nachos simply made, without meat. Just lots of cheese. It’s always about the cheese, isn’t it?

By commenting on this blog below, you will win a FREE copy of A Few Dead Men. Everyone who comments will receive a coupon code at the end of the week (March 8th). If you like what you read, post a review on Goodreads, Amazon or the website of your choice anytime and win another FREE copy of any Chick Dick Mystery!

A Few Dead Men – Setting: Acadia University

My Alma Mater

Acadia University Hall sits on a picturesque hill overlooking Main Street, Wolfville. I spent three years at Acadia in the mid to late 70’s, immersing myself in the college experience – – drinking at the student pub, pulling all night study sessions, and screaming when the guys’ dorm went on a panty raid of the girls’ dorm. Yes, back in the day guys and girls were housed in separate residences. If you’ve ever seen the movie, ‘Animal House’, that’s pretty much how it was, minus John Belushi. I was very lucky.

I had a fabulous time, and remember those days fondly. I also earned an Arts degree, amazingly enough, despite the drinking and partying and panty raids.

Excerpt:  A Few Dead Men

“Darcy parked across the street next to Alumni Hall and walked back toward the campus. But she couldn’t make her feet move in the direction of her father’s office, so she headed up the sloping lawn, past the limestone pillars of University Hall to the graceful, Victorian frame of Seminary House, where rows of paired, arched windows stared out of its stark white façade, like hooded eyes.

To her right was the massive chestnut tree where Skyler, her first love, told her he wasn’t ready for marriage, even though they had gone out for four years and lived together for two.

Men. Damn them all.”

I’ve enjoyed your launch party and how you tied it to food!. I think Darcy should go find a large plate of nachos instead of going to her father’s office.
I agree with you, the best nachos are made with chips, cheese and lots of jalapeños!

LOL, yeah, who needs meat? It’s all about the cheese! (But easy on the jalapenos, I’m not a spicy food lover)
