Vancouver Update #1

Vancouver Harbour

I just realized I didn’t title my last post. First time that’s happened. Shows how out of it I was when I got off the plane.
I think I could live full time in a hotel, like some dotcom millionnaire. My only responsibilities are to sleep, get dressed and feed myself. A maid arrives in the morning to change the sheets and towels and tidy up the room. She comes back at dusk to turn down our bed and fill our ice bucket. If I want to order food I pick up the phone. The hotel features an indoor/outdoor pool, hot tub and sauna. There’s a shopping center with a full food court attached to the hotel. I don’t even have to step outside.
I did step outside, however, for a few hours, even though my throat is still sore and I remain deaf in my right ear. I’d have to be dead not to go shopping. Of course I had to buy something — a trench coat for half price at The Bay —  but I’m going on a shopping trip next weekend, so I can’t spend too much money. When hubby came back we walked down to the harbour to watch the sea planes taking off and landing, then had dinner at a waterfront pub. Vancouver is surprisingly quiet compared to Montreal, for example, and very pretty, with leaves on the trees and lots of flowering shrubs.
That was enough activity for one day. At times I wonder if this is some sort of permanent virus I’ve contracted, since I’ve never been so sick for so long. I’m already imagining what it would be like to be partially deaf on a permanent basis, but that’s just me being anxious and silly.
I found out before I left home that 2 of my readers — yes I have a t least two, LOL — actually noted on my website that my next book was originially due for release in April, and were disappointed that it’s not out yet. Can you imagine? So now I feel encouraged and guilty that I haven’t released it yet. So my plan is to work on my book today, and maybe cut down on the shopping. Which will please hubby AND my readers.

I don’t know, I think you’d find a way to go shopping in the after life. LOL! Hope you are feeling much better so you can do some exploring (outside a mall of course). Enjoy the pampering, room service and no housework and your readers await for your next book! I know I should talk, but try not to stress, you will feel better soon. xo

Glad you’re feeling better. If you’re into authentic Spanish Tapas, check out La Bodega. It’s been there since the 1970s and is still operation by the Spanish family who opened it. I think it’s on Howe Street.

Women must shop, it’s a genetic thing, you know!

Don’t worry about your book, it will be ready when it’s ready and everyone will have to wait.
